Sarawak Skills Inks MoU with Timorese Manpower Agency

The Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions (Sarawak Skills) and the Timorese Manpower Agency have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance various talent development initiatives for the benefit of secondary school leavers and working adults in Timor-Leste.

Held on 13 February 2024 at the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Kuala Lumpur, the signatories of the MoU were Mr. Hallman bin Sabri, Executive Director of Sarawak Skills and Dato Dr. Nasir Latif, CEO of the Timorese Manpower Agency. Her Excellency Joana Veneranda Amaral (Ambassador of Timor-Leste in Malaysia), Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Haji Abdul Aziz bin Dato Haji Husain (Chairman of Sarawak Skills) and Yang Berbahagia Dato Hajjah Maznah binti Dasmi (Secretary of the Sarawak Skills Management Council) witnessed the signing of the MoU.

Commenting on this latest development, Mr. Hallman bin Sabri, who is also the Chairman of the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centres (FMSDC), highlighted, “The MoU paves the way for Sarawak Skills and the Timorese Manpower Agency to synergize substantial expertise and resources for the purpose of facilitating various talent development initiatives, especially in the area of providing skills training for the benefit of secondary school leavers and working adults in Timor-Leste. Indeed, the doors of opportunity are open for both parties to explore a wide range of joint activities covering the broad spectrum of workforce training, research, and programme development.” Hallman added, “Furthermore, this collaboration is in line with BIMP-EAGA’s education and social cluster.”
