SEDIDIK SARAWAK CELEBRATES STAFF MEMBERS’ COMPLETION OF RECOGNITION OF PRIOR EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING (RPEL) PROGRAMME

SeDidik Sarawak is proud to announce the graduation of 32 staff members who have completed various skills certificates and diplomas through Sarawak Skills’ Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) programme. In this respect, the Convocation Ceremony, a significant milestone in the educational journey of these staff members, was held at Sarawak Skills, Tabuan Jaya, Kuching on 2 March 2024.

The RPEL Programme conducted by Sarawak Skills exemplifies a commitment to recognizing and validating the skills and knowledge acquired through prior experiences. This innovative initiative provides individuals with the opportunity to showcase their competencies gained from work, life experiences, and informal learning, thereby enhancing their career prospects and personal development.

Speaking about the achievement, Madam Nur Alina Abdullah, Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development who represented the Honourable Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah, Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development expressed her gratitude to all participants and stakeholders in making the RPEL programme a success. “This accomplishment reflects our commitment to providing inclusive and transformative education that recognizes the diverse talents and experiences of our staff members,” she said while delivering the minister’s speech.

She added, “The graduation of 32 staff members from the RPEL programme serves as a testament to SeDidik Sarawak’s dedication to lifelong learning and professional development. As these individuals embark on the next chapter of their careers, they carry with them the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond”.

Among the graduates, three (3) recipients completed Level 3 in Care Management and Early Childhood Development Education, while twenty-nine (29) recipients completed Level 4 in Early Childhood Care and Development Supervision. The aforementioned programmes are designed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge in the field of early childhood education, with comprehensive curricula tailored to meet the evolving needs of the industry. The participants underwent rigorous training and practical experience over a period of three months for Level 3 and four months for Level 4.

Also present were Tuan Haji Mohd Asri bin Abdullah, Chief Financial Officer of Sarawak Skills who represented Mr. Hallman bin Sabri, Executive Director of Sarawak Skills, and Mr. Ayub bin Dahari, General Manager of SeDidik Sarawak.
