On 5 October 2023, four members of the Sarawak Skills Senior Management Team paid a courtesy call on Tuan Haji Hilmy bin Haji Othman, the new Kuching North City Commission Mayor.

Led by Mr. Hallman bin Sabri, Executive Director of the Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions (Sarawak Skills), and Chairman of the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centres (FMSDC), the other members of the Sarawak Skills Management Team were Mr. Mohamad Isham bin Fauzi, Chief Strategic Officer (Strategic Engagement and Business Development Division), Ms Amy Francis Najur, Deputy Executive Director (Corporate Services), and Mr. Stanley Gona Chee Khiong, Head of Corporate Communication. The purpose of the visit was to update the Mayor on the latest developments across the Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions (Sarawak Skills), including ongoing staff development activities, and new talent development initiatives for the benefit of current and future generations of the workforce in Sarawak.

During the visit, the Mayor also shared on various activities to facilitate the transformation of Kuching – for example, to transform Kuching into a friendly city for children and an ageing society.
