Lubok Antu, 17 December 2025<\/strong> \u2013 The TVET NextGen Camp Programme, themed \u201cCrafting the Experience, One Skill at a Time,\u201d<\/em> was successfully conducted at SMK Lubok Antu, engaging 80 Form 3 and Form 4 students in a structured, hands-on learning programme designed to build early awareness and appreciation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).<\/p>

The two-day programme served as a strategic platform to expose secondary school students to industry-relevant skills, practical competencies, and experiential learning approaches that align with current and future workforce demands. Through a series of interactive courses and skill-based activities, participants were introduced to core elements of technical proficiency, problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, and adaptability.<\/p>

Among the conducted courses are NFT Hydroponic System, Basic Electric Installation, Basic Air Conditioning Installation, and Making Buns and Cookies.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

During the closing ceremony, Mr. Mohamad Isham bin Fauzi, Chief Strategy Officer of Sarawak Skills, highlighted the critical role of TVET in driving human capital development and economic sustainability. \u201cTVET plays a pivotal role in preparing a skilled, competent, and resilient workforce. Programmes such as the TVET NextGen Camp are essential in cultivating early interest among students, enabling them to recognise the value of hands-on skills, industry exposure, and continuous learning in shaping successful career pathways.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

He further emphasized that early engagement initiatives are vital in bridging the gap between education and industry, while empowering students to make informed decisions about their future education and career options.<\/p>

School administrators and educators at SMK Lubok Antu expressed strong support for the programme, noting its positive impact on student engagement, confidence, and career awareness. The initiative complements ongoing efforts to strengthen TVET ecosystems and promote skills-based education as a credible and attractive pathway for youth development in Sarawak.<\/p>

The successful implementation of the TVET NextGen Camp Programme reflects a continued commitment by stakeholders to invest in talent development, foster industry-ready competencies, and support national and state-level aspirations for a highly skilled workforce.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
