KUCHING<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0– Sarawak Skills and FGV Holdings Berhad recently marked a significant milestone with the formal exchange of a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC), reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing human capital development in Malaysia. Held in conjunction with the presentation of certificates for the Written Instructional Materials (WIM) Workshop under the Job Guarantee Programme, the ceremony symbolised both organisations\u2019 dedication to strengthening the nation\u2019s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem.<\/p>

The collaboration aims to enhance curriculum development, improve the quality and relevance of training delivery, and ensure that the competencies acquired by trainees are aligned with real industry needs, particularly in the plantation and agribusiness sectors, where FGV is a leading global player.<\/span><\/p>

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Mohammad Isham bin Fauzi, Chief Strategy Officer of Sarawak Skills, highlighted the transformative potential of the partnership. He stated, \u201cThis MoC represents an important milestone in our efforts to reinforce collaboration in human capital development. Through this partnership, we are not only elevating training standards but also ensuring that the skills and competencies we cultivate remain highly relevant to the industry landscape, especially within the plantation and agribusiness sectors. Such collaboration is essential to producing a future-ready workforce capable of supporting Malaysia\u2019s long-term economic resilience.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Mr. Mohammad Isham also emphasised that the collaboration complements the organisation\u2019s broader mandate to bridge gaps between training institutions and industry partners, ensuring that training programmes are continually updated in accordance with technological advancements and evolving industry demands.<\/p>

Meanwhile, Mr. Mahafiz bin Kassim, Head of Human Capital Development at FGV Holdings Berhad, underscored the strategic significance of the exchange. He shared, \u201cToday\u2019s MoC is a strategic alignment that responds to the call of the National TVET Policy 2030 \u2013 a vision that emphasises synergy between industry and academia in cultivating competent, job-ready talent. This collaboration embodies an Industry-Driven TVET model, where the knowledge and training materials developed are directly absorbed into FGV\u2019s real operational environment. This ensures practicality, relevance, and immediate applicability for our workforce.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Mahafiz added that the partnership will enhance FGV\u2019s talent development pipeline, particularly as the company focuses on modernising its plantation operations, integrating digital systems, and adopting more sustainable practices. The alignment with Sarawak Skills allows FGV to tap into a strong training ecosystem that combines academic structure with hands-on industrial insight.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The event also recognised participants of the WIM Workshop, who received certificates for successfully completing the intensive training programme. The workshop equips trainers and educators with the skills needed to develop high-quality written instructional modules, ensuring that teaching materials are standardised, structured, and aligned with the competency-based training approach.<\/p>

The Job Guarantee Programme, under which the workshop was conducted, is designed to strengthen employability among TVET graduates by ensuring they receive training that directly supports industry expectations and workforce requirements.<\/span><\/p>

Today\u2019s ceremony not only celebrates the success of the workshop, but also sets the stage for continued collaboration between Sarawak Skills and FGV Holdings Berhad.
