KUCHING, 3 September 2025 \u2013 Sarawak Skills had the distinct honour of receiving His Excellency Ajay Sharma, British High Commissioner to Malaysia, on an official visit today.<\/p>

The visit reflects the ongoing commitment of both parties to further strengthen collaboration in the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET). It also marks an important milestone for Sarawak Skills in establishing a closer partnership with the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur towards creating opportunities in skills development, capacity building, and knowledge exchange.<\/p>

In his remarks, Mr. Hallman bin Sabri, Executive Director of Sarawak Skills, expressed his appreciation for the visit and highlighted the significance of international cooperation in uplifting Sarawak\u2019s TVET landscape. He noted that the partnership would create new pathways for Sarawakian students and educators to gain global exposure while ensuring that local industries have access to a skilled and competitive workforce.<\/p>

His Excellency Ajay Sharma, in his address, commended Sarawak Skills for its steadfast commitment to advancing skills education. He emphasised that technical and vocational training remains a crucial foundation for sustainable growth and international competitiveness, and expressed confidence that stronger cooperation between the United Kingdom and Sarawak will yield long-term benefits.<\/p>

\u201cThe UK places great importance on developing future-ready skills, and we are delighted to see Sarawak Skills taking such an active role in shaping the next generation of talent. By sharing expertise and fostering collaboration between our institutions and industries, we can ensure that young people are equipped with the knowledge and skills to succeed in a rapidly changing global economy,\u201d said His Excellency.<\/p>

Also in attendance were Madam Rebecca Cater, Political and Economy Counsellor of the British High Commission to Malaysia; Professor Dr. Fitri Suraya Mohd, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS); Mr. Donald Henry Nohed, Head of the Lower Education Division, Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) Sarawak; and Madam Hajijah binti Morsidi, Principal Assistant Director of the Sarawak Foundation.<\/p>

The presence of His Excellency and distinguished guests underscores the strong ties between Malaysia and the United Kingdom, and reaffirms the shared vision to advance technical and skills education for the benefit of future generations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
