The Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions (Sarawak Skills) will be holding its twenty-sixth (26th<\/sup>) Convocation on 25 September 2024.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the upcoming convocation, Mr. Hallman bin Sabri, Sarawak Skills\u2019 Executive Director highlighted, \u201cIn total, about 982 graduates will receive their scrolls. The graduates, from various academic and skills programmes, have completed their studies at the certificate, diploma and bachelor\u2019s degree level(s). The ceremony will be held in two sessions (morning and afternoon) at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).\u201d<\/p>\n

The Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions comprise the following institutions: Sarawak Skills Kuching, i-CATS University College, Automotive and Welding Institute of Sarawak (AWISAR), Sarawak Electrical Industry Training Institute (SEITI), Sarawak Skills Mukah, Sarawak Skills Miri, International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (i-CATS Miri), Sarawak Agriculture Vocational Training Institute (SAVTI), Sarawak Skills Sri Aman, and Sarawak Skills Satellite Campus at the Advanced Technology Training Centre (ADTEC) Bintulu.<\/p>\n

Mr. Hallman also shared, \u201cThe Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak cum Chancellor of i-CATS University College will officiate at the convocation which will include the presentation industry awards and various achievement awards to selected graduates. These awards are sponsored by Sarawak Skills 22 industry members and strategic partners.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year marks an eventful year as two (2) of our best students from Automotive and Engineering would undergo one (1) month of industry training at Foshan Feichi Motor Technology Company Limited exposing the students to the hydrogen technology vehicle. This industry training is fully sponsored by Foshan Feichi Motor Technology Company Limited.\u201d Added Hallman.<\/p>\n

In conjunction with the convocation, a \u201cPesta Konvo 2024\u201d will be held on 21 and 23 September 2024 at the i-CATS University College Campus, Jalan Stampin Timur, Kuching. Activities include food stalls selling a wide variety of culinary delights, exhibition(s) by the various faculties, including a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) showcase, and campus tours. Members of the public are invited to visit the campus between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
